North Perry Airport: Powered Flight Takes Cadets to New Heights

Cadets Javier Bacallao, Gabriele Longobardi, and Rolando Perez were taken to the clouds with 2nd Lieutenant Paulo Calderon as their guide.

The cadets learned new concepts related to the Powered Flight syllabus found within pamphlet 60-40 (CAPP_6040__Combined_25335CF1C1F18.pdf (gocivilairpatrol.com)). Orientation Flights, in conjunction with the aerospace education syllabus, cements aviation concepts and divulges the abstract into the practical. Cadets in these flights develop an understanding of flight characteristics, flight maneuvers, stall education, and aircraft instrument exposure.

For two cadets, this was their first flight. Cadet Perez and Cadet Longobardi received the signed CAP 77 first flight certificate, signed and presented by Opa-Locka Squadron Commander 1st Lieutenant Darius Calvert.
